Life Drawing #31 – Dom

A good session with Dom, who has apparently posed before but not sure if I missed that one. More acrylic and Markal Paintstik, but also brought in my landscape trick of loose watercolour and conte crayon. Works quite well (I call that one ‘Lenin in the Shower’ cos it looks exactly like Lenin having a shower…! I wonder if he used Imperial Leather or Proletariat Leather?

Anyway some nice poses, I think Dom is a professional model and it shows.

And I continued the rolling back into doing some more traditional measured pieces – yes the return of pen and watercolour! That one worked well. And a nice abstract Posca drawing – why is it when I get interrupted the pieces look far better?

(Actually don’t answer that, I know why – part of being a good artist is knowing when to stop, sometimes I do overwork stuff. Hard to know where to stop sometimes, that desire to create the whole image, etc).
