Last life drawing of the year, and a pretty good selection using the new Khadi pad and paper, and Rosaspina paper. A good dip pen and ink wash drawing in the Khadi pad, and a very Van Gogh pose which I called ‘Sorrow’ but iridescent medium snuck in to my paints so it ended up sparkly which wasn’t really the gravitas I was going for. Hence the title. And an A3 ink and watercolour on the Khadi A3 paper which I have mixed feelings about. I like the lyrical nature and the bleeds, but maybe I still have the image in my head that it didn’t match up to?

I’ve recently got some graphite powder and so was experimenting with brush and water, mixing in Derwent XL blocks as well. Experimented with using the brush end and the graphite, as well as using the powder neat and in a wash.

The graphite sparkles too, which of course won’t show in the photographs. It was a very sparkly session. And like glitter, it had to be fixed to high (me) heaven lest it fall all over the floor, as like glitter is the herpes of crafting, graphite is messy and just falls off the page…
