Portraits At The Pub 16: Jackie

Sorry for the delay posting these (these are from nearly a month ago), been in a seasonal slump – always get seasonal depression when it gets dark and the clocks go back. I am working, currently on Abstract Advent for the almost the whole of December to kick my working back in gear…and also attending Portraits at the Pub every two weeks. The last but one was with a woman I think was called Jackie or Jacqui…I might be wrong. But I’ve asked a few people and no-one knows so Jackie she is!

A few naturalistic drawings, a brush pen drawing which is the featured one which went slightly wrong so hence the white ink, and the one above which is either the Preppy or the Monami fountain pen, I think. Something very old master/Rembrandt about the pose for the brush pen one (not in quality though, I really wish!).

Also continuing my fascination with coloured pencils in wet and Stabilo/Woody pencils, there are two quick pieces. The coloured pencil technique is a real hit and miss I find – also the wet on wet spraying of the paper first tends to mean most paper falls apart. Now trying acrylic paper despite the canvas texture to see if it works better, as the pencils go through every wet paper, even watercolour.
