Life drawing #7

After the previous week’s triumph, the next week was less successful…I had a cold, felt feverish. The model was interesting though, very thin, Egon Schiele type. She didn’t like my drawings though, and I can’t blame her.

The pastel of her back was good, focusing purely on tone and not marks – a failed version before tried to also dispense with charcoal and just use the raw sienna / burnt umber pastels, and that didn’t work. Quite like the dip pen piece of her back, and although I messed up the face, the study of her sitting by the chair has something. Also liked the chaotic nature of the felt pen study below.

Although looking back at the first sessions I did back in August, I’ve still come a long way.
