Portraits at the Pub 5: Aniela

Back to Portraits at the Pub at The Lamb for a festive Christmas portrait with a great model with a red and green checked Harlequin suit and a cracker in her hair! The black and white pastel came out very heroic, like Rosie the Welder and she kept that smile for 30 minutes, which is impressive. My favourite is the piece called ‘Matriarch’ in brush pen and watercolour, since Paul quipped I’d made her look like a Polish Matriarch!

She came over and asked us what we were talking about, and I repeated that comment, and she said that’s great, cos my family is Polish so I’ll take that! 🙂 I did make her look a bit older, but a lot of us did, she seemed to have one of those faces that lent itself to that.
