Back again at the Portraits at the Pub at the Lamb, and this time we have a country theme – sorta. Yee-ha! Mostly ink pieces this time, with a paint-stick portrait for old times sake, it was great to see the old gang who had been away the last session – it had been six months since I’d seen them. Plan to come more often in future…the sitter must’ve been a sinister left-paw because he’s facing left n 3/4 of the poses! Nice to do a paint stick piece, I had forgotten how much fun they were, and had solved the goopy paint-stick problem that bugged my last paint stick piece.
The first piece was the ink piece below, just a quick 20 minute piece, The other pen piece was only 10 minutes – I work fast! Oddly I prefer it.
I also did this ink brush piece when the model put a cowboy hat on – it fit him, and we got a real Wild West Sheriff feel. So I did a brush and ink piece – I think again using the Artway synthetic mop brushes which still get used from time to time. Love them, and they really work well for a Japanese/Chinese style ink brush piece.
