It’s a really crazy time, what with the increased lockdown, and the whole atmosphere in the UK. Not to suggest with these pictures any normality, hence the titles, but I can (or could) socially distance myself and create artwork. That might have changed…will pop out in a bit to the river for my one allowed walk and see if I get challenged if I stop and sketch or paint. Both of these are from Bushy Park, which seemed busy but most people seemed good about keeping two metres apart (even the geese!) but there was always some covidiot who ignored the spacing, sadly.

So not sure how long I can do this for, always the few spoil it for the many.

I think I prefer ‘Shadows and Risk’ out of the two – my hidden shadow, the tree stumps, the slight feeling of the tree being part of the current climate, cut down in it’s prime. It’s part of the Dead Tree series which is about ecology and the world, and how trees quite often survive even falling over. Seems very current.

As people have been saying about COVID-19 – this is the world sending humanity to it’s room to think about what it’s done. We can’t go on like this, hurting the planet and expanding without thinking about how sustainable the future is. Don’t want to be all biblical, but this feels like a warning,
