A bit behind (ho ho) in posting this, as the left side was done a week or two ago, and then a couple of days ago it became a diptych in my sketchbook…and it’s a sequel to this drawing. The poses were accidental, that they are mirror images of themselves was not intentional but a happy accident. They are in real life opposite pages in my sketchbook, so they now have a happy relationship with each other!
The first one he was wearing a t-shirt, the second as it’s a bit warmer now, nothing at all (I’ll wear out my pens doing his body hair alone!), and the second drawing I really got into also drawing the bed clothes, the duvet etc. Good foreshortening practice as well!
The quick sketch above was the first attempt at the first left image, I’m glad now I abandoned that and flicked over the page, as it meant the work could have a whole new dimension.
