Sip and Sketch is now Portraits In The Pub at The Lamb – and jumping forward into newer work for the moment I went earlier this week. Really excited by what I am calling the ‘Dark Series’ – working on black paper – originally with Canford Card as per the Inktober piece that started it all – but now paper with black gesso applied as it sinks in too much with the absorbent Canford paper. Also black gesso is actually black, supposedly black Canford paper is a sort of very dark grey.
Other works went well, I love the quill piece of Lucy, and she was rather proud of her blue eyebrows as well as the red fan, and was wearing a cerulean silk chinese blouse or top, so that seemed an obvious focus.
