Another good session for ink work, starting with a quick sketch of Stella, who is the daughter of one of the fellow artists who is a carer and has caught COVID-19. This was the first portrait session using my new pens (the FPR Himalaya V2 Ultra-Flex and the free Muft pen that was thrown in). Then the portrait of the younger Asian guy, quite a stylised portrait which I’m not sure I captured him well.
Then I moved into the brush and ink, long time not doing that for a dipytch portrait – featured above and below. Two separate photos united as a whole when I flipped the female portrait and sketched her with the Himalaya pen and him with Winsor & Newton ink with brush. I think these were the best of the session.
And finally this bonus portrait of a happy old Asian man, with my Muft eyedropper pen in Diamine ink and W&N wash depicting the smoke or steam behind him.
